What Does a VicRoads Roadworthy Inspection Cover?
A VicRoads Roadworthy Certificate inspection focuses purely on safety-related components—not the overall mechanical condition or long-term reliability of the vehicle.
The inspection includes the following key items:
Wheels and Tyres

Checked for cracks, bulges, visible damage, and secure fitment

Must meet the minimum 1.5 mm tread depth requirement
Steering and Suspension

Components must be securely mounted

No excessive wear, leaks, or damage

The vehicle must steer and track correctly
Braking System

Brake pads, discs, drums, hoses, lines, and fluid levels are checked
